2School- Day 5
This week has been full of learning and new adventures. Students have had many new firsts. Some of these include:
-Exploring downtown
-Riding the c-train
-Exploring the new public library
-Exploring the Education Center
-Walking the Peace Bridge
-The Chinese Cultural Center

We've been extremely lucky to learn about ripple effects in such diverse environments.

This week one of the ways we documented our learning and experiences was to write 1 word and draw 1 picture that we would know and be able to explain to another person if they asked. Here are students drafts of their boards- students are going to get the chance to continue to work on this in the coming week(s).

Future of Learning Lab
In the future of learning lab we talked about the different parks we saw. Then students brainstormed what made a park great. Once brainstorming was done students shared examples.
Students then chose one of the examples and got to use the different loose bits in the lab to create their prototype.

Perspectives
Not only did we talk about ripple effects while visiting some of our new locations but we also looked at these spaces through different perspectives. Students got to pick the perspective they wanted; some examples include child, teenager, adult, tourist etc.
What is important about these spaces, how can they be used, do they accommodate everyone in the community?

Volunteers
The students, Mr. Kim and myself wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers we had this week. Without you we wouldn't have been able to have this amazing experience!!
