Language Arts
We have continued working on being good readers as a class. We have read a few more Jan Brett books, The Trouble with Trolls and Christmas Trolls. While reading these stories we really focused on the characters, especially how they looked and how they acted. After we read a story students brainstormed about these characteristics in small groups and then moved into a large group where we all had to share one characteristic about a character. After we read both stories and worked on these characteristics of the characters students picked two characters- one from each story and completed a venn diagram- comparing the similarities and difference's of the two.

Winter Shape Poems
Verbs- Snowman, Hot Chocolate, Tree, Reindeer, Candy Cane and Gingerbread man/cookie
We worked on shape poems today- where students got to choose a verb of their choice and then come up with different adjectives that described their verb. Below are a few examples of some shape poems.
