Science
We have continued to learn more about Rocks and Minerals. We have been reviewing new material from the book Rocks and Minerals and working on building up our vocabulary. Students have learned lots of new words over the last two weeks. Today we focused on 5 new words and did different Revup activities with the 5 words. Our new words this week are: Intrusive, Extrusive, Erosion, Weathering and Location. Ask your child to explain the new words and use it in a sentence.

Some other words we have focused on

This week various students have brought in some of the rocks from their rock collections and students have had the opportunity to share their rocks with the class; where their from, how they got them, which type they believe their rock comes from. We have had a wide variety of rocks and its been neat to view the different collections that
students have.

Writing
During our writing time students have been focusing on using one or two of the five new strategies in their journals.
